1. Core Islamic Principles and Compliance

The Shield of Faith Islamic Center of Eastside Detroit is an Islamic nonprofit organization operating in accordance with the principles of the Quran and the Sunnah (Islamic Core Jurisprudence).

  • All activities, transactions, and content on this website are guided by Islamic ethics, including the avoidance of Riba (interest), Gharar (excessive uncertainty), and Haram (forbidden) practices.

  • By using this site, users agree to respect these foundational principles and refrain from any activity that contradicts Islamic values or promotes prohibited acts.

2. User Conduct and Adab (Etiquette)

The Organization expects all users to interact with the platform and community members with Adab (proper Islamic etiquette, respect, and decency). Users agree not to use the website to:

  • Post, share, or transmit content that is obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, or discriminatory.

  • Engage in backbiting (Gheebah), slander (Abohtan), or harassment of any individual or group.

  • Promote unlawful activities, violence, or content that contradicts Islamic teachings.

  • Distribute spam, malware, or engage in any cyber-attacks against the website infrastructure.

The Organization reserves the right to remove any content or terminate the access of any user who violates these standards of conduct without prior notice.

3. Donations, Zakat, and Sadaqah

As a nonprofit organization, The Shield of Faith Islamic Center of Eastside Detroit facilitates the collection of charitable donations, including Zakat (obligatory alms) and Sadaqah (voluntary charity).

  • Intention (Niyyah): When making a donation, it is the user's responsibility to specify if the funds are intended for Zakat, Sadaqah, or general operations. The Organization pledges as an Amanah (trust) to distribute specified Zakat funds strictly to the eligible categories (Asnaf) as dictated by Islamic law.

  • Non-Refundable: Generally, charitable contributions are final and non-refundable. However, if a donation was made in error (e.g., a duplicate processing error), users should contact the support team within [Number] days at [Email Address].

  • Payment Processing: Secure, third-party payment gateways are utilized. The Organization strives to ensure these gateways align with ethical standards, though it is not liable for the independent actions or breaches of these third-party processors.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on this website—including text, graphics, logos, audio (such as Quranic recitations or lectures), video, and software—is the property of The Shield of Faith Islamic Center of Eastside Detroit or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

  • Users may download or print materials for personal, non-commercial, and educational use, provided they do not modify the content and retain all copyright notices.

  • Commercial exploitation or unauthorized reproduction of materials is strictly prohibited and contrary to the Islamic principle of respecting the rights and property of others.

5. Privacy and Amanah (Trust)

Personal data is viewed as an Amanah (a sacred trust). Information is collected, stored, and used in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Personal data is never sold to third parties.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

  • Content Accuracy: While the Organization strives to provide accurate Islamic knowledge and updates, the content on this website is provided on an "as is" basis. Religious rulings (Fatawa) or educational materials provided should not replace consultation with qualified scholars regarding complex personal matters.

  • Governing Law: If arbitration fails, these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, provided that such laws do not inherently force either party to violate established Islamic jurisprudence.
