EDUCATION CENTER:​​

NUTRITION COURSES

We offer vegan nutrition courses weekly for the community at large. We have guest speakers in and our own staff as well.

Our education center offers lots of courses in life skills including Financial Responsibility, Nutrition Education, Job Skills and Placement, and we also offer basic Cooking courses.


Our team consists of Dustin and Angela Vanderburg and a team of volunteers. Dustin has a background in Hospitality Management, Graphic Design, and Small Business Management as well as retail and warehouse experience including Retail Management and Restaurant Management experience.

Angela has a background in Theater and Pre-Med as well as retail experience and Restaurant Management Experience.

Our purpose is to provide a wide range of technical skills for our guests to help them become functioning members of the community and allow them to contribute to making Metro Detroit a better and more healthy place.

We offer services to the community at large not just the homeless for vegan education and advocacy training.

Job Skills Training

SHELTER AND SUPPORT:

We offer job skills and placement training for those in need of job placement. We work with local agencies for employment services.

Support for Housing and Job Placement

Crisis intervention and Support Services for Domestic Abuse and Homelessness
 

We offer weekly nutrition courses on Sunday from 5 pm to 6 pm which helps show the community healthy eating habits and ways to make vegan alternative choices in their diets. We also offer meals for those less fortunate on a daily basis.

We work with local and government agencies to help train others in job placement, keeping their job, and finding stable housing. We also provide shelter for those that do not have access to proper shelter.

We offer support services for those needing to talk to a social worker with regards to Domestic Abuse as well as finding shelter for those needing such. We also offer services for the homeless such as showers, shelter, and therapy as needed.

Crisis intervention

Safe Housing

We offer a 24/7 crisis line for those facing issues with regards to homelessness, financial hardships, and domestic abuse.​

We provide social workers for domestic abuses and we provide financial planners to help with monetary crises. We also provide emergency nutrition guidance for those facing reversible health conditions.

We offer safe shelter for those that are facing financial hardships. We also work with local contractors and government agencies to secure housing for our guests.

Mental health referrals

Navigation of housing and education systems

Information, education and nutrition

We will offer mental health services for our guests. However, for those guests, we are not able to help at our facilities we will provide referrals to other options that can help them further.

We provide help with navigating the housing services available in the local area services. We also provide assistance with navigating education services for children in the community.

We offer information and nutrition advice for the local community for healthy options to choose from instead of the food desert options available to the average Detroit resident. We also offer education on Vegan alternatives and the benefits of a vegan diet.
